Montreal looks to stay undefeated against their former QB in Edmonton.

CFL NEWS HUB

The Montreal Alouettes (2-0) have looked every bit the Grey Cup betting favourite to kick off 2025. They're a perfect 2-0 and lead the league in in net defence and sit second in offensive points scored per game.
Starting quarterback, Davis Alexander is literally perfect to start his CFL career. The Portland State product now sports an unblemished 6-0 record as Montreal's #1 signal caller. He has a great matchup to continue his impressive run Thursday against a terrible Edmonton Elks’ (0-1) defence. In their season debut, Edmonton surrendered 31 points and over 300 passing yards against the BC Lions.
On the other side of the ball, The Alouettes' defense is holding opposing quarterbacks to a 66.7 passer rating and lead the league with five interceptions. Edmonton QB1, Tre Ford was less than impressive in the season debut throwing for a putrid 178 yards, one interception and zero touchdowns. If the Elks want to change it up and turn to former Als QB, Cody Farjado he'll be playing a team that knows his tendencies and weaknesses. Either way, Edmonton doesn't seem equipped to score points against the league leading Alouette stop unit.
Much like their record, Montreal is a perfect 2-0 against the spread, and our betting model likes the Als to make it three in a row on Thursday. Lay the six points with Montreal at -120.
