Patrick Mahomes will get a significant pay raise in the coming years after restructuring his contract with the Kansas City Chiefs.

The reigning NFL MVP, who had helped the Chiefs make it five straight AFC Championship games and capture two Super Bowls over that stretch, will be making $210.6 million over the next four years, the most money ever given to a player in this league in that time frame.
newline
As part of the restructured deal, his compensation over the next four years will be guaranteed amid a flurry of record contracts being given to players at his position over the past few months.

The 28-year-old native of Texas became the highest-paid player in the league in the summer of 2020 when he signed a 10-year contract extension with KC worth $450 million.
newline
While no one has topped that contract regarding total value, several star pivots surpassed Mahomes this past summer regarding annual wages, including Lamar Jackson, Jalen Hurts, Justin Herbert and most recently, Joe Burrow.
newline
After “Joe Cool” signed his five-year, $275 million contract with the Cincinnati Bengals worth $55 million a season ($275 million total), Mahomes was number eight on the list of highest-paid QBs.
newline
Now, the Chiefs star QB will earn an annual salary more in line with those names, as he will earn $52.6 million each of the next four seasons.
newline
A two-time Super Bowl MVP and five-time Pro Bowler, Mahomes has received more than $273 million in guarantees since putting pen to paper and that decade-long contract in 2020, according to Equity Sports.
newline
The club has said they intend to revisit Mahomes’ contract in 2026, and as it stands now, his deal with the Chiefs will expire in 2031.
