The wheeling and dealing of NFL free agency continued, with the Giants adding another piece to its offence on Tuesday.

Darren Waller was sent from the Las Vegas Raiders to New York in exchange for a third-round selection in the upcoming draft.
newline
The Giants had previously acquired that pick from the Kansas City Chiefs for wide receiver Kadarius Toney.

Waller, a Pro Bowl selection in 2020, should be a massive upgrade for the G-Men at the tight end position after last year’s starter Daniel Bellinger caught a mere 30 passes for 268 yards and a pair of scores in 2022.

The 30-year-old became expendable in Las Vegas when the club announced the acquisition of wide receiver Jakobi Meyers earlier on Tuesday, agreeing to a three-year deal to play on the strip.
newline
Trading Waller allows the Raiders to free up $11 million in salary cap space, giving them $26.4 million now to spend, according to overthecap.com.
newline
Meyers has averaged 70 catches and 800 yards receiving over the past three seasons.
newline
The undrafted receiver established career bests in receptions (83) and receiving yards (833) in 2021 and touchdowns (six) last season.
newline
He was also a key figure in one of the most bizarre endings to an NFL encounter, as his backward lateral at the end of a Patriots-Raiders game last season was recovered by Vegas’ Chandler Jones, who ran it back for a touchdown, costing New England a chance to win in overtime.
